The Knights Templar was a military order founded around 1120 to protect pilgrims in the Holy Land. Their estates in Britain funded their work overseas, and their Yorkshire lands were among their most valuable. The order was suppressed in the early fourteenth century amid allegations of heresy and much speculation has followed. This talk will look at the Order in Britain and particularly in Yorkshire and try to separate fact from fiction.
John will join us in the room.
This meeting will be a hybrid meeting where members can join either in the room or on Zoom and joining instructions will be emailed 48 hours before the event.
