Member’s Meeting – Chris Tapster – The Absent Minded Beggars

The British Army in the Anglo – Boer War 1899 -1902
After an introduction to the conflict, the talk describes the British Army at the time, the
progress of the war and life for the ordinary soldier on the campaign. This covers everything
from weaponry and personal equipment to communications and rations, with actual items
displayed. The talk ends with a description of the notorious “concentration camps” and the
outcome of war.

Chris will be in the Room.

This will be a hybrid meeting where members can either join the meeting in the room or via Zoom.
