Poets of the Great War
17 August @ 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm
Read to Write presents a moving reading of poets from the Great War. Including letters, journal entries, and extracts from memoirs. The event will provide a vivid tribute to the soldier poets of that conflict in this important centenary year. As well as readings from Owen, Sassoon, Graves, and Rosenburg, the event will feature the work of our local ‘forgotten’ poet Will Streets of Whitwell who was killed in action on the Somme.
