Doncaster’s Gallery, Library and Museum currently has an exhibition running, showing artefacts and memorabilia from the world famous designer, Sir Nigel Gresley.

The exhibition includes papers saved by his close friend Harry Harper, who originated from Doncaster and who donated these items to the Doncaster Grammar School Railway Society for safe keeping.

The exhibition displays items from his personal life, and also from his working life, when he designed the iconic locomotives, ‘Mallard’ and ‘The Flying Scotsmen’, both built in Doncaster.

The exhibition closes in September 2024, but for those members who are unable to visit the exhibition, there are some photos of the exhibition in the Plant Works section for members to view.
