Microsoft declared a couple of years ago that they were planning to end support of their Windows 10 operating system in October 2025 (the 14th to be precise).
It would appear that they are now offering a small carrot to those who won’t be able to afford to do this, or those whose computers won’t accept Windows 11.
Microsoft will be offering an annual paid for service for up to 3 years, to keep updating your Windows 10 security so you should remain safe online, as long as you of course take the normal steps to keep safe online anyway, for example up to date anti virus software.

Please note, Windows 10 won’t stop working after October this year, simply that it won’t be safe to go online, as it risks being attacked by malware and viruses, if it isn’t updated through the ESU programme.
