How did fairs develop and operate?
This talk looks at the buyers and sellers in fairs, the type of goods exchanged including luxury and everyday items, the locations where trading took place, and how they were regulated.
It will also explore the role of fairs in the hiring of labourers and servants, and for entertainment.
This meeting will be a hybrid meeting where members can join either in the room or on Zoom and joining instructions will be emailed 48 hours before the event.
