Members Hybrid Meeting – The Denaby Hangman by Ian Carpenter
November 25 @ 7:30 PM – 9:00 PM GMT
Capital punishment was abolished in this country from the late 1960’s and many people think Albert Pierrepoint was the last official hangman, having executed hundreds of people in a 25 year long career, that ended in 1956. But that’s not true.
The last official executioner was born in the Doncaster area.

Though not as well known as Pierrepoint he was equally well known in his profession.
He was Harold Bernard Allen, known as Harry Allen. He was trained by Pierrepoint, and dispatched many of Britain’s most notorious murderers, plus notorious Nazi war criminals, at Nuremberg.
This meeting will be a hybrid meeting where members can join either in the room or on Zoom and joining instructions will be emailed 48 hours before the event.
Registration for this events will open 2 weeks before.
