Lockerbie – Family Tragedies by Andy Harbon

This talk will look at the events of the 21st December 1988, when Pan American Airways Flight 103 was destroyed over the Scottish Border Town Lockerbie and in particular the impact to those families on the ground in the Sherwood Crescent area. Andy will show images of a visit to Lockerbie this year, and the main memorial sites, including Dryfesdale cemetery, where the Flight 103 memorial is found.
Andy will also briefly cover the enquiry and the subsequent conviction and will also look at circumstances around the incident, still the biggest mass murder event in the UK and the largest crime scene to this day.
This meeting will be a hybrid meeting where members can join either in the room or on Zoom and joining instructions will be emailed 48 hours before the event.
Registration for this events will open 2 weeks before.
