The GRO have announced that they are providing a scaled down, but faster service for Birth and Death certificates via their website.
You will see after logging in to the GRO website (www.gro.gov.uk/) that a new link has appeared – Order a Digital Image.
There are currently only 2 options (more will follow), currently:
- Births 1837 to 1922
- Deaths 1837 to 1887
They cost £2.50 and the service is completed after a few minutes. This sounds very good and allows for a far quicker turn round of the data for a very reasonable cost.
